DISTANCE: Two walks will be offered, 6 km and 10 km with (an 11 km option) along city streets and paved trails.

Walk goes along city streets and paved trails for a walk back in time through historic Old Town Pittsburg where the Sacramento and San Joaquin Rivers flow together. The town was originally called New York Landing during the 1840s, and later Black Diamond before becoming dubbed Pittsburg in 1911. Walk past two harbors, several statues honoring notable industry that helped build the community, historic buildings, plus revitalized streets and parks. Also find out why many service men and women knew about the town of Pittsburg during the 1940s & 1950s. MISCELLANEOUS: Wheel chairs, strollers and pets (on leashes and with clean up) are welcomePets permitted on leash with clean-up. Walkers will have many opportunities for breakfast, lunch, or both along Railroad Ave., or at the harbor, including the world famous “New Mecca Café”. So come early or stay late to enjoy these dining opportunities.
DIRECTIONS:
From Hwy 680 near Concord: From Hwy 680 near Concord, take Hwy 4 EAST. Exit at Railroad Ave. in Pittsburg, turning LEFT onto Railroad Ave. and proceed to Steeltown Coffee & Tea at 695 Railroad in the Old Town District. Off street is available one block past the start point in the Pittsburg Historical Museum lot.
If you are coming from the East: If you are coming from the East, take Hwy 4 through Antioch. As you come into Pittsburg, take the Harbor St./Railroad Ave. exit. At the signal, turn LEFT onto California Street. Proceed to the second stop light and turn RIGHT onto Railroad Ave. Follow directions above to the Start Point.
